Aloha, my name is Tami Saito and I am a Kindergarten educator and technology leader at Wailuku Elementary School on Maui, Hawaii. I have spent many years volunteering for various community groups. Currently, I am now on the path to pursue a Ph.D. degree in Educational Technology and Design from Walden University. The decision to pursue a Ph.D. in Educational Technology and Design stemmed from collaborating with a colleague. Committed to transforming the educational status quo, I want to continue to make small changes moving forward on how educators teach and the way students learn with a focus on 21st-century learning and technology integration. Throughout my teaching career, I have tried to be an innovative educator who is willing to integrate technology, STEM, and the arts within my teaching practices. I also have a passion for wanting to help other educators. So far this year, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with the Hawaii Society for Technology in Education (HSTE) to offer office hours to support Hawaii educators as they learned to transition to distance learning, updated and manages the school website, hosted “Tech Thursday” to help/share tips/tricks to those who attend, and supported educators at my school by offering 1:1 support sessions and presented various technology PD to the staff. As an educator, I want to share my compassion, enthusiasm, and dedication for teaching to positively influence the lives of others. I also would like to collaborate, brainstorm, inspire, expand my professional learning network sharing my knowledge with the students and educators.
