Hollywood Schoolhouse believes that there is nothing more important than providing an educational experience that equips its students with the knowledge, empathy, and values required to make our world a better place. Whatever the challenge, we are all better when we can appreciate and collaborate with those who are different from us. Differences in gender, race, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, religious belief, physical ability, learning style, ideology, family structure, and socioeconomic status light the path to a greater understanding of the world and our place in it.

In celebration of its 75th Anniversary, Hollywood Schoolhouse is renewing its commitment to social justice. The Schoolhouse is committing to increased funding for Tuition Assistance, as well as funding for the important work we need to do as a community to ensure that our curriculum, campus, and culture are active, anti-bias, anti-racist forces for good.

In 2020, Hollywood Schoolhouse was given word that the nearby Lex Theater was available for long-term lease and moved swiftly due to the school's very limited campus footprint. With the right of first refusal written into the contract, this space also has the potential to be a permanent facility for Schoolhouse students, neighborhood children, and community partners down the road.

With a reasonable amount of renovations and improvements, this space will be ready to house Schoolhouse students for enrichment activities, community gatherings, and performances. Just as transformative as this space will be for Schoolhouse students, it is the school's intention to continue it's history of community partnership by opening it up for after-school and weekend programming neighborhood children, community coalitions, neighborhood gatherings, and more.

Over the last 75 years, Hollywood Schoolhouse has not only survived turbulent times, but met them with character, compassion, and commitment to community. When faced with uncertainty, social unrest, political crisis, or tragedy, the Schoolhouse has a history of rising to the occasion and letting its values lead the way.

Celebrating an anniversary in such tumultuous times feels like an apt opportunity to invest in a school thoughtfully educating the children who will one day lead us through the next 75 years of challenges facing our world.
