Hello and welcome to my classroom website! My name is Mrs. Sansoucie. I am very excited for the opportunity to work with you and your child along with working together to help your child succeed! As a parent myself I understand that you are the most important teachers in your child’s life and appreciate that role that you and I each play in the partnership to aid your child in achieving goals set forth for academic, social, emotional, and psychological growth.
For fourteen years I worked for a global company in the metro St. Louis area. During eight years of that time I served in the Army National Guard as a Heavy Equipment Operator. I began volunteering in the Hillsboro R-3 School District when my oldest son was in kindergarten. Volunteering in each of my three boy's classrooms made me realize that my passion is finding different ways to teach children how to learn, recognize what type of learner they are, and achieve goals set forth for them.
With that said, I returned to college for my teaching degree in the Fall of 2008, served as a substitute teacher for two years, completed my student-teaching at Hillsboro Intermediate, and worked as a one-on-one Paraprofessional for a fourth grade student during the 2012-2013 school year. In May of 2012, I graduated from the University of Missouri-St. Louis with my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, followed by completing my Minor in Literacy the spring of 2013. For two summers, I worked at Bright Beginnings Learning Center as the lead school-age teacher and have taught summer school for the the past eight years.
In the summer of 2015, I attended the STEMpact training program at Washington University and received a grant from Monsanto for materials that I am very excited to introduce to students again this year. Yes, I am still using the supplies and learning games that I received from that grant! In addition to the grant, I am the co-chair of an after school Game Club that exposes students to an array STEM related tasks in Coding and Circuits that focus on jobs in the engineering field. The 2025 - 2026 school year will be my twelfth year teaching.
On a personal note, my husband and I have been married for 32 years. We have been blessed with the opportunity to raise three amazing young men, all of which are working in environmental/geological fields as a career. We've also expanded our family welcoming 3 daughter-in-laws that we call our own! We have one fur-baby named Luna whom we rescued 5 years ago and a two grand puppies named Motley and Daisy. Our family enjoys to camp, fish, hike, ride our SxS and dune buggies, and spend time with extended family. In my spare time I enjoy reading, cooking, gardening, taking pictures, watching movies, and scrapbooking.
