Meet the Captain

My name is Tiffany Brooks and this is my twelfth year at the Intermediate, but my fifteenth year of teaching here at Hillsboro. I taught fourth grade for three years previous. Teaching sixth grade math is definitely where my passion lies!!

I have lived here in the district most of my life and so have my two children. My daughter, Morgan, is 23 years old and is employed by Jones Animal Hospital as a Vet Tech. She is married and has two beautiful children. I am the proud grandma of two grandsons, Dakota and Weston, who will be celebrating their birthdays this September. Dakota will be three and Weston will be celebrating his big ONE year!!! I feel fortunate to be a part of their lives. They are such a joy to be around and definitely keep me hopping!

My son, Garrette, is 20 years old and is employed by Precision Irrigation Systems as an Installation Tech. Both of my children and I are alumni of Hillsboro School. After graduating high school, I attended Jefferson College where I obtained my Associates Degree. I then ventured to the country and attended College of the Ozarks for a year before transferring to Southeast Missouri State University where I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education.

As a child, I would put on my dress with a belt, my dress shoes, and fixed my hair before heading to the "classroom" in our basement to teach my neighbors and my three sisters and brother. Of course I was always the teacher!! If school was not on everyone else's agenda, it did not stop me. I would set up my Cabbage Patch dolls, my tall, blonde haired doll named Frizzles, and anyone else who wanted to be in my "class". That was just the beginning, but ultimately it was my sixth grade teacher who inspired me to follow the career path I chose. My goal is to give my students the skills needed to be successful in life, that same passion for success, and encourage and inspire them to work toward accomplishing their dreams.
