Procedures

Our Classroom

  • We have taken special care to space desks six feet apart.

  • We have hand sanitizer in the classroom.

  • Desks and any borrowed supplies will be disinfected before subsequent use.

  • We will have a few plexiglas dividers for use in class.

  • Masks will be required when six foot distance is not possible AND while students are in the hallways.

  • The custodians are doing a phenomenal job at sanitizing frequently used areas and door handles on a schedule and will be disinfecting our rooms nightly.

  • It is recommended that students bring a water bottle with a cap that they can carry from class to class. They can refill it using the bottle filler down the hall. Water fountains are not accessible at this time.

Virtual Days (Wednesdays) and Days not at School

  • Assignments will be posted on Google Classroom and/or Big Ideas. You will be expected to log on, check announcements, watch videos, and complete assignments and quizzes on these days.

  • The assignments on each of these days WILL count as a grade, so make sure you are completing them.

  • On these virtual learning days, please email me with any questions. I will respond as soon as I can. With the exception of Wednesdays, I will have class, so a phone call may be difficult to answer. On Wednesdays, we will have Zoom meetings to answer any questions you may have.

  • When we Zoom, it is most helpful and productive if you have your homework, device, blank paper, and notes in front of you with a pencil and highlighter. Our Zoom times are limited, so organization is key.

  • Please communicate with me, ask questions, and be patient as this is a new way of learning for all of us!

In Person Days

  • On the days you attend school in person, we will have instruction and practice during class.

  • Homework will be assigned with the expectation that it will be completed with 100% effort by Wednesday or when you arrive at school on your next scheduled day, whichever comes first.

  • Any work not finished in class is considered homework!

  • Your device will travel with you to each class.

  • It is YOUR responsibility to have your device CHARGED and ready to use in class each day. We DO NOT have extra devices or chargers for those who forget theirs at home.

  • If you did not pick up a school Chromebook to use, it is YOUR responsibility to bring your personal CHARGED device to school for use during the day.
