Playground Rules

Rules and Expectations

The following rules will be presented on poster board for the students to see every day:

1. Always be kind. One of the most important rules in my classroom will be for the students to be kind to one another each day, and to always think of how someone else might feel in response to their actions and words.

2. Keep your hands, feet and all other objects to yourself. It is important for students to know that they must always respect the space and belongings of others.

3. Follow directions. I will explain that it is essential that students follow directions, and that this rule must be enforced in order for daily activities to run smoothly.

4. Raise your hand to speak. I will explain that when others are speaking, it is important to wait their turn to speak and to let the teacher know that they have something to say by raising their hands.

5. Always try your best! This rule will demonstrate that effort is essential in the classroom. I want my students to know that if they have tried their best, they will be successful.
