A little bit about me!
I was born and raised in Hillsboro, MO. I attended Hillsboro R3 school district from Kindergarten-12 grade. I am proud to come back and be a part of such a great community again. I graduated Cum Laude from the University of Missouri (UMSL), where I recieved a BS in Elementary Education. In March, 2023, I became certified in Early Childhood Education.
I am a mother of two. My son is four years old and has the largest personality! My daughter is 2 years old and growing everyday. I hold family very closely, and we love nothing more than spending time doing things together.
In my free time I like to spend as much time as possible with my very large family, and friends. I am constantly finding home projects to do and I love DIY (ing) things. I enjoy being outside but I do not get along with all of the insects that live there. If given the choice, I like to be on the water more than land. However, I love my backyard and the little oasis that we have created. Some of my hobbies are crocheting fuzzy blankets, drinking coffee, and creating holiday themed gifts.
Meet Our Team!
This is my third year teaching 5th grade and I am so excited. I love being a part of a students journey to becoming a life long learner. I hold a firm belief in allowing students to find and learn what interest them. My focus is on ELA and social studies, two subjects that influence our daily lives.
Personal Beliefs
There is a misconception that some people are not 'readers,' and I strive to teach students that everyone is capable of learning reading and writing. I see social studies as a story about how we came to where we are today. It is filled with amazing moments of inspiration, strength, tragedy, and learning opportunities.
I believe communication between parents, students, and teachers is key to success within our classroom. I encourage you to reach out to me at anytime, regarding your child. I look forward to working with each and everyone of you this year, and getting to know your learners.
