The Harrison K–8 Physical Education program aligns with Illinois State Standards by developing students’ movement and motor skills, promoting lifelong physical fitness, and fostering teamwork, communication, and responsible decision-making. Through age-appropriate activities, students learn the skills and concepts necessary to engage in moderate to vigorous physical activity, assess and improve their personal fitness, and work effectively with others in cooperative and competitive settings. The program also emphasizes health promotion, injury prevention, understanding human growth and body systems, and making informed choices that support overall health and well-being. By providing a variety of physical activity experiences, students build the knowledge, confidence, and habits needed to lead healthy, active, and productive lives.
