MISSION STATEMENT
At McKinney Elementary, our Comprehensive School Counseling Program is committed to delivering equitable, data-informed services that support the academic, career, and social-emotional development of all students. We believe every child deserves to feel supported, included, and empowered to grow. Through individual counseling, small group work, and classroom lessons, we provide culturally responsive, strengths-based, and equity-focused support that helps students build confidence, set goals, and develop critical life skills such as problem-solving and critical thinking. We celebrate each student’s unique strengths and diversity, encouraging self-advocacy and personal growth. Through collaborative, student-centered practices, our program fosters a safe, caring environment where students are prepared to navigate academic and social challenges, successfully transition to middle school, and thrive as engaged members of their school and broader community.
We have partnered with Emily Sullivan, MA at Youth Contact. Emily is a mental health provider that works out of our building to support some of our students.
