Our program is designed to be flexible. Every course is asynchronous, meaning there is not required face-to-face time. All of the curriculum is online and you will be able to work through it independently. Each week content will be opened on Saturday and be due that following Friday. It is the responsibility of the student to create a schedule to work on their online class and meet the scheduled due dates.
There are no specific times you need to be online unless your comprehensive high school has placed time in your schedule to work on your online HOA class. There are due dates every week that students will need to meet.
Generally, students need to spend between 3-4 hours a week working on their online class to be successful.
Courses taken through HOA are counted towards your high school GPA. Please check with your high school counselor to understand how these credits will be applied.
No! Our elective courses are not NCAA approved. Only our core courses--ELA, Math, Social Studies, Science--are approved. Please speak to your counselor if you have questions or concerns about this.
