The Tide Dancers is the Varsity Dance Team at Glencoe High School. High Schools across Oregon first adopted Dance or Drill teams in the 1980s. Glencoe has a long and successful history in the Oregon High School Dance Team community. Glencoe's Dance Team, formerly known as the "Tidettes," earned 11 State Champion titles in it's over 20 year history (1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1995, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, and 2004)!
Glencoe is proud to rebuild it's Dance Team after a several year hiatus, and we are thrilled for what our third season has in store. While the Tide Dancers are a Varsity team, you do not need to have formal dance experience to join the team. We are interested in students who have a passion for dance and are willing to work hard in a positive team environment.
Anna brings over 20 years of dance experience to the Tide Dancers. With a background spanning Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, and Lyrical, as well as multiple years as a Varsity cheerleader, she brings a dynamic, high-energy “Game Day” style to the floor.
Anna is passionate about building on the strong legacy of the Glencoe Dance Team while creating new traditions that reflect the program’s future. As a coach, she values athletes who are committed to growth, both as dancers and as individuals, who work hard, support one another, and bring a “get things done” mindset to everything they do.
Delaney brings over 15 years of dance experience to the Tide Dancers. With a background ranging from Modern, Lyrical, and Contemporary to Hip Hop, Game Day style, and Jazz, she offers a versatile approach to dance. Delaney has trained in the studio, competed with the Tide Dancers Jr. team, spent all four years as a member of the Tide Dancers in high school (formerly known as the Tidettes), and continued her dance career at the collegiate level with the Portland State University Dance Team.
Delaney is deeply connected to the Glencoe Dance Team legacy and is proud to be an alumna who carries on its traditions. As a coach, she is committed to creating a safe, supportive space where dancers can be themselves. An environment free of judgment where individuals are encouraged to express who they are both as dancers and as people.
