Who: Band directors from the Steinbach Area, including Mr. Toban Janzen and Mrs. Beth Janzen from Clearspring Middle School, Mr. Markus Goertzen from Stonybrook Middle School, Mr. Mark Loewen from the Steinbach Regional Secondary School, Mrs. Keira Wychnenka from Mitchell Middle School, Ms. Katherine Charles from Kleefeld School, local legends Crystal and Murray Lawrance, Beth Janzen and more than 40 community members ranging in age from 14 to 70.Â
What: Creating a multi-generational musical community in a concert band setting! Â
When and Where: Thursday evenings 7-8:30 at the Steinbach Regional Secondary School (SRSS) in Steinbach.Â
Session 1: September 14th to December 7th
Joint rehearsal/Jam with Brandon Symphonic Band on October 12th (closed to the public)
Performing at the Clearspring Mall on December (Potentially the 9th)Â
                Session 2: January to AprilÂ
Performance TBD
Why: Improving our relationships, minds and health through the enjoyment and challenge of making music in community.
Costs:
Music: $10 for most students (18 and under). $15 for University students. $30 for all other adults.
Instrument: Will vary by the person. Many people will own their own instrument. Some may need to rent an instrument.
