What does communication look like between home and school?
I hope to be in touch with good notes, emails, phone calls, and items to share! I will update our class website and send out email updates weekly. The quickest way to reach me is via email, but you can also contact me on Class Dojo. While I hope it never does, if an issue with behavior or academics arises, I will reach out so that we can work through it together.
What will the take-home folder and agenda be used for?
The take-home folder will be used to transport important papers between home and school. The agenda will be used to track upcoming assignments and events. It may be helpful for you to read through your student's agenda at the beginning of each week for a glimpse of the week ahead. Both your student's agenda and take home folder will come home each afternoon and will need to be brought back to school the next day.
Do YOU assign Homework?
I do not "assign" homework, but I do expect students to read 20 minutes a night as often as possible. Students will be asked to log their reading minutes. Additionally, students may be asked to bring home incomplete school work.
Can my child bring a snack?
Absolutely! I encourage you to send your child with a healthy snack every day to tide them over until lunch. We eat snack as a class around 10:00 every day. If you are able, please consider donating snacks for the classroom! I always like to have snacks on hand in case anyone needs it.
Can my child bring a water bottle?
Yes, please send your child with a water bottle that has a tight sealing lid (Chromebooks and water don’t mix!) Please do not send your student to school with any pop or sticky drinks.
Can I send in birthday treats?
Due to the number of food allergies in the school, we ask that you please bring in non-food items for birthday treats. There are 26 students in our class.
