NHS Collar
If you are a National Honor Society member IN GOOD STANDING, you may wear an NHS collar with your graduation robe.
NHS Collars are the property of HHS and you are allowed to borrow them.
You may borrow the collar and return it after the Graduation ceremony before you leave Hope College that night.
You may return it the next morning when you pick up your diploma.
You will not be allowed to pick up your diploma until your collar is returned.
If you would like to purchase a patch to keep and display at your open house or in another way, you may purchase them for $5 from Mrs. Goosen, in room 143, before Graduation day.
General Information about the NHS collars:
If the collar is dirty, you may wash it in COLD water and LAY FLAT or hang on a hanger to dry, do not use the dryer!
You may gently iron the collar to remove any wrinkles and make it look presentable.
Wear your collar with the seams on your shoulders, it will be shorter in the front than in the back.
You might want to pin the collar, from under your gown, to keep it in place and keep it from sliding around on your gown.
The NHS collar goes on first, then your gold stole and any then any honor cords you have earned.
You can watch the video under "What do I wear?" to see an example of this.
