My HPISD is a single-sign on portal. This means once logged in, users do not have to continue to sign on to use different applications. If you forget your login information, email your child's teacher or contact the help desk.
Contact HPISD's technology help desk for assistance by completing a form here. Staff is available to assist virtually during business hours.
Students, and parents may contact our technology department through the online form for any tech-related question and should receive a response within 24 hours. The service is managed by the HPISD Online Tech Support Team.
Using Chrome is the ideal browser to access applications on this site and particulary in Google Classroom. A student must be logged into his/her HPISD Google account to access Google Classroom. Applications can also be accessed on an Android or iOS device.
Software and apps have been reviewed and vetted by HPISD educators. Twice a year, commonly used web applications submitted by teachers are evaluated using the HPISD Privacy, Security and Internet Safety Rubric. Each approved digital application meets student privacy laws and guidelines. When choosing a resource for student use, educators look for products that protect students' privacy by third party groups to best protect student data.
Students will use the following virtual platforms identified by grade level:
Seesaw (pre-k through second-grade)
Google Classroom and Google Calendar (third through 12th-grade)
Moodle (9th through 12th-grade)
Instructions for use will be given to students from teachers.
Assignments will be posted on Monday morning by 9 a.m. each week.
Assignments will be posted each Monday by 9 a.m. and will be reviewed by teachers weekly. HPISD Connect is not an operational online school. However, assignments will be posted each Monday morning and students will receive instructional feedback from teachers. Student engagement in the activities provided is expected so teachers can monitor the learning. Assignments are designed by the teacher for his/her classroom and provide more instructional continuity than general suggestions for families. Multiple enrichment opportunities will be shared for families who desire additional activities for their children.
On April 22, HPISD Board of Trustees approved a credit/no credit grading model during the emergency remote learning. High school students will receive a numeric grade toward their GPA during this spring semester. Click here for details.
Although at this time formal attendance is not taken, participation is expected and monitored. Assignments are posted by 9 a.m. for students each Monday. Student engagement is expected in the activities provided so teachers can monitor the learning.
Teachers can best be reached through email. Educators have established designated office hours dedicated to providing feedback and answering questions. A response to questions should be answered within 24-hours.
Feedback is essential to student learning, especially in a digital environment. During school hours, each teacher will designate two hours to provide feedback to students or answer questions. Your teacher's office hours will be posted online or emailed to you.
Yes. There will be many opportunities to increase learning without the use of technology. Teachers will design activities that will engage students both on- and off-line. Several of the enrichment activities on Connect HPISD do not involve technology.
The time spent working on assignments will vary by grade level. Click here to determine the best way to learn for your child.
Although school is closed, AP teachers recognize the need for students to maintain their commitment to learning to be prepared for the AP exams. Based on the most recent update, we understand that students will still be able to take an AP exam in the spring, but it may only assess material learned through March; however, we will continue to monitor information from the College Board. AP teachers will prioritize student learning activities that are critical to preparing our students for the externally assessed exam.
