4th Grade Curriculum: What to Expect!

HMH Into Reading is a comprehensive, research-backed reading curriculum designed to cultivate strong readers and writers. It focuses on building knowledge, developing foundational reading skills, and fostering close reading and critical analysis through engaging literature. The program incorporates a structured literacy approach, emphasizing knowledge building, stepped-out foundational skills lessons, and interactive whole-class instruction. It also utilizes data-driven differentiation and robust assessment tools to support student growth and inform instruction. 

Using the NYSed Math Modules, we will be covering:

6 Modules of math using the new Eureka curriculum materials that cover:  place value, multi-digit multiplication, fractions, division, angels and measurement!

Using the Science21 Curriculum, we will be covering the following themes:

Unit 1: Structure, Function and Information Processing

Unit 2: Energy

Unit 3: Waves and Information

Unit 4: Earth Systems

*Complete one science invesigation/year*

Using the NYSed Curriculum supported by PNWBoces, we will be covering the following themes:

NY Landforms, Iroquois Confederacy, Early Colonial Americas/Dutch Influence, Revolutionary War, Early Government and Women’s Rights.
