Lower and Middle School Librarian
Kristin Libsohn Tarnas, is the teaching librarian at Hawaiʻi Preparatory Academy’s Lynn Taylor Library on our Village Campus. Her early childhood and learning was supported by our public libraries from east to west- Hilo Library to Honokaʻa Library. Kristin obtained her BA from Bennington College. She is a parent of two HPA graduates, '12 and '19. Kristin has spent over 30 years as a teacher in Hawai'i, 19 of them at HPA as our 3rd and then 5th grade teacher. She earned her MSed from Bank Street College and in 2021 she graduated from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa with a Masters of Library and Information Science (MLISc). Kristin is a founding member of the Ānuenue Hawaiʻi Keiki Book Award committee and is the current Hawaiʻi Island Liaison for Hawaiʻi Association of School Librarians (HASL). She is thrilled to support students in elementary and middle school as HPA's K-8 school librarian!
