At the end of the 4th day, the students should answer the five comprehension questions on the last page of the packet. These packets will be turned in on Friday, Jan. 4th. SS: We are collecting similarities and differences for 3 Native American tribes, using articles that were given in class. We will be writing 5 paragraph essays starting next week, here at school.

(Both classes) Students were given a class code (4P4KYL) and 4 separate stories were assigned to be completed by next Thursday, Dec. 20th. Many students have already finished some of these stories in class. We will be using the Chromebooks periodically in class to help with this. Students are aware that a final average from this site will be included in their overall reading grade at the end of the nine weeks. (Usernames and passwords were written down on an introductory page and should be in their yellow ELA folders).

SS: We are gathering our data for writing a five-paragraph essay over the similarities and differences of Ohio's Native Americans. Students were given 3 separate tribes to research (an article and graphic organizer were given out). The introductory paragraph will be done together as a class. The body paragraphs will each be about a separate tribe. This will be done in school until next Thursday.

ELA: Text Structure quiz Friday; Study Vocabulary for last week and this week's lists (Unit #7 and #8) Quiz Friday over these words.

SS: We are writing autobiographies in class to go along with our timelines. Students should be finishing these in class on our Chromebooks by next week. They must also bring in 3 artifacts (items) that coincide with each of the three body paragraphs in their autobiography. Body paragraph #1 deals with family, body paragraph #2 deals with favorite things, and body paragraph #3 is about their future. (For example, I might bring a photo of my family, a book because I enjoy reading, and sunscreen because I want to retire to Florida in the future!) These items should be brought to school next Friday for our Autobiography Showcase. They may take them home that evening. (See the attached instructions for the autobiographies above)

Math: Go Math! p. 91 & 92 Distributive Property

ELA: Study all 10 words from last week and this week. Quiz Friday over both lists. Also, text structure quiz on Friday over (Compare/Contrast; Problem/Solution; Cause/Effect; Sequence and Description) These are listed and explained in the student's Reader's Notebook. We will also be completing various activities this week to help prepare them. A Review Sheet was sent home today. AM ELA finish the article and questions about Marian Anderson. PM ELA finish the questions for Wilma Rudolph book.

SS: We will be starting an autobiography 5 paragraph essay this week to coincide with our timelines.

ELA: New Weekly vocabulary words given out today (flexible, recent, peculiar, mob, and contemplate) (See list in "More" tab above). These words, along with last week's words (Unit 3) will be quizzed on Friday, Oct. 5th. We also began working in our "Storyworks" magazine today. There is no homework for this tonight. If the "This or That" was not completed in class, that is homework.

SS: We continued to work on our Midwest Region scrapbooks in class today. We will work again on Tuesday and the final completed scrapbook is due Wednesday.
