There are CRITICAL decisions to be made at this point regarding the layout of your work!
REMEMBER it does not have to be put on the board in the order it was made. YOU need to make decisions, select and order your work- in series that demonstrate how your ideas have changed and developed to make a systematic body of work
USE THE CHECKLIST BELOW TO CHECK YOUR FOLIO - HAVE A CRITICAL FRIEND TO LOOK OVER IT
Layout your work initially and analyse your work in relation to the following questions.
Does the work look cohesive in terms of colour palette or art conventions?
Is there a clear series of work that develops and change?
have you successfully conveyed your Kaupapa?
is there evidence of Artist models across the works?
Have you generated and regenerated ideas at least 3 times?
If you answer no to any of these or even.. a maybe... then something needs to change.
You may have other work that would be better suited to include so swap some over
You may need to rework some pieces to add elements.
layering prints, drawing on top, collage or drawing release is a good way to easily brings elements across into works
Perhaps you need to collage some other works together or cut up parts and rearrange as a grid/cut out shape
or sometimes you just have to make a whole new artwork.
Working together as a team at this point is really helpful. your classmates will see things in your work that you cant [cant see forest for the trees thing!] so have others look at your work and provide suggestions to others as well.
Use your digital folio to rearrange - working in a digital format also allows your brain to see things differently..
All right, now that you've edited, selected, and ordered your work, it's time to secure everything in place!
Prepare Your Folio Board
Tape the three panels together. There's a trick to this, so work with a partner to handle the tape!
Stack all three boards together.
Tape the length of the left-hand side with white tape (black if using a black folio).
Open the top board to the left.
Tape the right-hand side of the two remaining panels.
Open up the middle panel and tape the inside of the joins.
Attach Your Work
Use double-sided tape to neatly and firmly attach your work to your board. Remember to leave space for your name badge!
Attach your declaration to the back of your board.
Attach your name to top right [refer to diagram]
Digital Folio
Make sure you have photographed and measured all of your artworks.
Arrange your digital folio in the same order as your physical folio.
