After viewing the videos that we made on our first film making day, let's draw on the things that we have learned from the ideas that we came up with. Think of what was said, and your own thoughts about what we felt about our first creations. Ask yourself, was there tension, did the actor show concern? Even though our films had a lot of good and interesting things in them, what kind of things can we do to improve? For instance, how can we plan for a successful film project? What do filmmakers do? How can we use sound and the other actor to create the emotion of tension and apprehension in our film, and also in the emotion of our viewers?
Watch the following video and get some ideas about how the pros create film and other videos. Afterwards, create your own storyboard to share with your group.
A storyboard is a way to communicate the ideas that you want to share using visual media. It is a way to organize the graphic and story elements of your project.
You might think of this step as prewriting, and also just as writers do, you won't want to get too carried away in the artistic details, or even your own feelings about your sketching ability. Stick figures are accepted and recommended. No one except your production team is going to see these, and you are using this for a way to get your ideas across, and make a framework or a skeletal version of your video.
