TX K12 Ed Tech Consortium

We are a group of Education Technology leaders with big challenges and ideas, and we have learned that we can really help each other if we share challenges and lessons learned. Our intent is to connect with Texas K12 technology leaders and conferences to organize “meet and share” event. We want to hear from you to plan events for the benefit of Ed Tech professionals. Together we can also always have a “panel” presentation based on the current groups’ topics of interest.

Charter Statement

As organizations become more “digitally literate,” and the use of technology becomes ubiquitous in K12, the role of Education Technologists will shift, from (only) providing teacher technology training, to introducing innovative technologies and strategies to districts’ teacher development teams.

Education Technology (Instructional Technology or Technology Integration professionals) will be less about providing “teacher training” on a daily basis and more about researching and designing the Teaching and Learning environment.

This involves:

    • In collaboration with academic teams, Ed Tech Specialists and leaders providing guidance for district-wide innovative initiatives that require transformative shifts in educational practices.
    • Designing and implementing environments for easy access to high quality digital material.
    • Managing systems integration in collaboration with internal clients and other IT departments (content, standards, formative assessments, recommendation engines, automated/adaptive materials)
          • Product reviews and testing
          • Introduce innovative technology solutions
          • Education Technology vendor relations and negotiation
          • Design training and development programs for new technology
          • Design of/and participation in RFPs
