TX K12 Ed Tech Consortium

About

In order to identify the right solutions, Educational Technology leaders must be able to identify what problems we are trying to solve. These analyses and decisions must be grounded in the specific district and schools’ demographics and cultures. An effective K12 Education Technology Leader must be able to work in collaboration with academic colleagues and school leaders, so they can plan and design the ideal learning environment for their district. This includes the processes, locations and contexts in which learners can find and organize information about the world, reflect upon who they are as individuals, what they can do, and who they can become. The goal of the TX K12 EdTech Consortium is to foster a common ground that allows for collegial collaboration.

The districts currently associated with the TX K12 Educational Technology Consortium believe that it is in the best interest of Texas public schools and students to have ed tech school district leaders organize for the purpose of sharing information of systems integrations, purchasing and negotiation processes, identification and assessment of products, considerations for safety, privacy and security, and vendor relationships, so we can support the identification, assessment and implement of the best possible solutions for each unique situation.

All districts, large, medium and small will benefit from analyzing the challenges together, and agreeing certain sets of technology standards so we can design digital learning environments where teachers, students and parents have choices, so they can select instructional materials and resources that best serve each student and groups of students.

We are not a conference or organization, nor do we want to become one. We are a group of Educational Technologists with big challenges and ideas, and we have learned that we can really help each other if we share challenges and lessons learned. We want to hear from you and plan meeting events for the benefit of any Ed Tech professionals attending.
