Mrs. Barclay
Hi there! My name is Mrs. Barclay and I teach Texas History. This is my 5th year at Lanier Middle School and my 10th year teaching. I am a native Texan and proud. I graduated from the University of Houston in 2003. I have a major in History and a minor in Education.
I love Houston Teams and enjoy attending games on my free time. When I am not teaching, I love exploring new hiking trails, learning about different cultures, and experiencing food around the world.
Class overview
Texas is filled with diverse History! We will begin the school year learning about the physical land and the Indigenous people that first lived here. We will discuss European Exploration, Anglo Settlement, Texas Independence, the Civil War, Reconstruction, and Texas in the 20th Century.
