T.I.P.S
To create a language-rich, interactive classroom, we promote academic language and literacy development through meaningful interaction. This is necessary for EBs because they benefit from a focus on oracy and multiple opportunities to practice social and academic language.
At Horn, we follow the 4 principles of T.I.P.S.:
T- Total participation of all students,
I- Incorporate academic vocabulary,
P- Promote literacy and language development, and
S- Scaffold for all language levels
