Google Gsuite for Education offers a number of services and applications that provide valuable communication, collaboration and productivity opportunities for education. When districts create a GSuite Domain, Google provides administrators with tools to manage applications. Through this administrative dashboard, the district can select effective and safe apps and services while blocking services and apps that do not subscribe to, or uphold the following student data and safety protection laws:

Why use HISD's GSuite Domain?

Google for Education as a suite offers both Google-owned and 3rd party applications. While Google apps guarantee safe data practices and protection against unsolicited contact or ads, other 3rd party apps in the suite may not be as safe. When joining Houston ISD’s GAFE, each campus receives training and support for both effective and safe educational use of GAFE. In turn, campuses are asked to follow a small number of guidelines to ensure the preservation of student data privacy and security, and the safe use of internet tools for all students.
