BCS Library Lady
My name is Mrs. Hartling, and I am the BCS Media Specialist. Basically, I'm the library lady! I have been in education for 22 years. I have a bachelor’s degree in Literature from the University of Houston, and I completed my graduate degree at the University of St. Thomas. I am certified in 6-12 ELA and in Reading, and I have a master’s in education with a Reading Specialist focus.
I love helping students build their reading lives. I look forward to helping everyone find the perfect book!

Reading Resources
HISD offers numerous free online resources for students. The resources below can be accessed through Clever.
MackinVIA is an online bank of electronic books, including a link to Comics Plus which contains hundreds of graphic novels.
HISD has partnered with the Houston Public library to offer all students access to the HPL resources.
Comic Plus is an online bank of electronic comic books, graphic novels, and manga.
