In this course we are aiming to complete a visual arts standard 1.5 - Produce a finished work that demonstrates skills appropriate to cultural conventions. This will give you 4 credits.
Our cultural convention is looking at the art of Graphic novel. Through this we will be looking in more depth at:
Narrative
Character development
Composition skills
We will be also looking into 3 key artists work and a range of different style to complete an outcome - a double page spread of a comic.

Choose an image - could be one character, could be one scene etc. from each artist
You are going to recreate this as best as you can. Think about the shapes and the lines - especially line weight and mark making. Each artists style is very different.
You can use felt, pencil, paint etc. to achieve the look you want.

From your artist's style, I want you to break down some of the style characteristics and create a character and a place drawing or painting based on the word you choose as well as the style of the artist you have chosen. We will use this sheet to have a go. These do not need to be huge artworks, I just want you to have a go at using your imaginative ideas based on text.
