Create a page in your workbook that is a mix of blacked out shapes and outline. Think about geometric and organic shapes
Learn - Ako - To know:
How can we define positive and negative space?
Create - Waihanga - To Act:
Lesson 1: What is a Notan? We are going to watch the video on Notan creation to try to understand the difference between positive and negative space.
We are then going to have a go at creating our own one using a mix of organic and geometric shapes as well as multiple layers of shapes.
Lesson 2: Lets think about stencilling. We are first going to have a look through the quizlet words and test ourselves. Then we are going to have a go at a positive and negative space drawing.
We are not at the point where you need to firstly cut your design out as well as paint both your positive and negative space.
You will need 2 copies of your design - the outside white piece of paper and the black positive space of your design. These will help to block out areas like we did with the bird exercise.
Create your own colour palette thinking about blending analogous colours as well as placement of complementary colours.
Once you have finished your final work, move onto the share section to create your blog post.
You will need a photo of your bird painting as well as your final design painting and design (google drawing or drawing)
Tell me about how to use the sponge technique - what do I need to know to be successful at this?
Tell me about your design - how is it meaningful to you?
How did you go about choosing your colours for your final painting?
