FAQ

How do I access the meetings?

  1. Sign up for our book club here.

  2. Download Zoom on the device you will be using. To download Zoom on your computer, go here.

  3. Check your email on Friday for the link to register for our Zoom meeting. (After you initially sign up, you will get the link to register on Tuesday. Then you'll start receiving emails on Friday, which include the registration link.)

  4. Register for our meeting; we ask that you use the email address you entered as the "email address your child will use when registering for our meetings” in the sign up form for the book club. You must register by Tuesday, 11:59 PM Pacific Time.

  5. Watch your email for your personal Zoom meeting link. We will be manually approving each meeting registration, so you may not get your meeting link right away. You may get it as late as Wednesday evening.

  6. Click the link to join! We recommend logging in 5-15 min before the meeting. Once you log in, you can walk away while you wait.

What will it be like?

Our hour long online book club will have the following format:

  • Welcome and brief introductions

  • Author speaks (participants can ask questions in advance here)

  • Small-group breakout sessions with discussion questions based on the book. (We work to accommodate language requests. Currently requested are English, Spanish, and Mandarin.) Each small group will be facilitated by an educator and/or psychologist.

  • Large-group closing. We will briefly talk about the next author and book.
