Moodle: Navigation and Activities (New Staff or Recap)
This session will outline the range of Moodle activities available in order to enhance learning, teaching, and assessment. It is an opportunity for staff to familiarise themselves with the VLE functions and explore which activities best suit their course content. Staff can expect to learn how to create and edit activities, and also upload files and URLs.

Moodle: Using Moodle Books
Moodle Books are generally used for course handbooks, but they can also be a tool to format lengthy information into manageable sections and provide a table of contents. Uses could include: instruction manuals; training information; schedules; overviews of key theories, concepts, or historical eras. This session will demonstrate how to create, edit, backup, and print Moodle Books so that they can be used as a learning and teaching resource.

The objective of this session is to explore tools which can help to create and adapt resources which are accessible for all students, including those with barriers to learning. The session will outline quick tips and common errors in content presentation, including how to add Alt Text and create transcripts from lesson recordings.

There are two ways for students to submit work on Moodle: the assessment activity, and the Turnitin submission point. This session will demonstrate how to set up these assessments and access submissions, as well as how to add feedback to student work. There will also be a discussion about various feedback formats, including voice notes and using EdTech to include video options.

The Tech Tips series contains 5 sessions, each focusing on a specific aspect of teaching, learning, or assessment. They are intended to enhance student participation and provide alternative formats for interactive assessments. Depending on staff interest in using the EdTech, the series can be supplemented by training from the Academic Skills Mentors who will offer sessions on using the Ed Tech to the students, meaning everyone involved will have the necessary knowledge and skills to participate effectively
