General Officer Requirements:
● Lead officers’ meetings
● Be willing to contribute to furthering the goals of the chapter as a whole
● Unable or unwilling to complete the assigned duties will be replaced at the discretion of the advisor and officer team
● Participate in all chapter campaigns, projects/volunteer events. Are also expected to attend and be involved at as many DECA functions as possible, it is very important that the officer team has a strong visible presence.
● Must maintain a minimum of an 80% grade point average. If you drop below, you will have 5 weeks to bring it back within the acceptable range. If you are unable to do so, you will be removed from office.
● Check in regularly with the Advisor for any updates or projects that need attention
● Present a positive and motivational attitude within the school and community
● Respect the viewpoints and opinions of all officers, members, and the Advisor
● Must be able to take constructive criticism and feedback
● Communicate any potential issue or problems that would affect DECA to the Advisor
● Come up with goals at each officers meeting for both the officers as well as the club as a whole
● Be positive and compliment the members when they are working hard
President’s Duties:
● Must have a year of officer experience (Either DECA or another club)
● Set up a monthly calendar with the advisor and Hand out the monthly calendar to all members each month
● Supervise and present all chapter campaigns, projects/volunteer events
● Attend all officer meetings
● Attend, at a minimum, the regional level competition and any DECA state leadership conferences that the chapter attends
● Assist in planning and implementation of Regional and State competition with the Vice President of Management and Marketing
● Be willing and able to attend a majority of DECA trips/activities outside of class time, being highly visible to the membership at large
● Other duties as assigned
● Establish a list of fundraisers, dates and plan of action for the year with the other officers
● Be a liaison between Regional and State Officers
Executive Vice President’s Duties:
● Responsible for attendance at all meetings
● Assist in planning and implementation of Regional and State competition with the President
● Work directly with president for all activities
● Attend, at a minimum, the regional level competition and any DECA state leadership conferences that the chapter attends
● Act as Vice President of Finance if the acting officer is unavailable
● Other duties as assigned
● Establish a list of fundraisers, dates and plan of action for the year with the other officers
● Be a liaison between Regional and State Officers
Vice President of Marketing and Management Duties:
● Assist in planning and implementation of Regional and State competition with the President
● Work directly with president for all activities
● Maintain all Social Media
● Create and release marketing materials for all events and fundraisers
● Create promotion and summary materials for DECA scholarships for the membership
● With the assistance of the Advisor, coordinate with local businesses for opportunities for volunteer hours and/or sponsorship opportunities and report the information back to DECA members
● Attend, at a minimum, the regional level competition and any DECA state leadership conferences that the chapter attends
● Act as Vice President of Communication if the acting officer is unavailable
● Other duties as assigned
● Be a liaison between Regional and State Officers
Vice President of Communications Duties:
● Take notes at all meetings – turn in to the teacher to update the agenda/meeting minutes for Google Classroom
● Maintain an attendance record for all meetings, events, and fundraisers
● Create a written report of all conference results and events the club participates in
● Create a Monthly News Letter of past and future events and news
● Other duties as assigned

● Attend, at a minimum, the regional level competition and any DECA state leadership conferences that the chapter attends
Vice President of Finance Duties:
● Keep a record of all withdrawals and deposits to and from the DECA School Account
● Sign all necessary paperwork for withdrawals, deposits, and payments
● Keep financial records for all fundraisers and events
● Report our financial situation at all officer and general meetings
● Create and send financial reports to any sponsor or administrator as necessary
● Other duties as assigned

● Attend, at a minimum, the regional level competition and any DECA state leadership conferences that the chapter attends
Vice President of Operations:
● Point person for the apparel business of the club
● In charge of creating and/or approving designs to be voted on by the membership
● In charge of tracking inventory and orders for the club
● In charge of scheduling members for the production of the apparel for the club
● Keep a scrapbook with pictures and history of club.
● Ask for pictures of project activities and club activities from club members
● Keep track of all awards and honors club and club members have received; try to get pictures
● Ask for pictures of project activities and club activities from club members
● Turn in historian's book (should contain pictures of club activities, members, project work, awards, etc.)
● Keep accurate record of history of club.
● Label and date all entries made in historian book
● Attend, at a minimum, the regional level competition and any DECA state leadership conferences that the chapter attends
