Learning Intentions:
Creating Cinquains: Understand the structure and purpose of cinquain poetry.
Using Descriptive Language: Develop the ability to choose descriptive words that convey meaning effectively.
Structured Writing: Learn to follow a structured format while expressing ideas creatively.
Success Criteria:
Structure Mastery: Students will demonstrate understanding of the cinquain structure, including its syllable pattern (2, 4, 6, 8, 2) and its purpose of concise expression.
Descriptive Language: Use of appropriate adjectives and nouns to create vivid imagery in each line.
Grammar and Mechanics: Demonstrate control over basic grammar and mechanics, such as punctuation and capitalization.
Creativity and Originality: Show evidence of creativity and originality in the choice of subject matter and imagery.
Peer Feedback: Provide constructive feedback to peers and use feedback to improve own writing.
