Health and Wellbeing is at the forefront of all learning. It enables students to fully access a broad and diverse curriculum. Learning in health and wellbeing ensures that students develop the knowledge and understanding, skills, capabilities and attributes which they need for mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing now and in the future. Learning through health and wellbeing enables students to make informed decisions in order to improve their wellbeing, through experiencing challenge, enjoyment and positive aspects of healthy living and activity for themselves. It allows them to apply their mental, emotional, social and physical skills to pursue a healthy lifestyle, to make a successful move to the next stage of education or work, by establishing a pattern of health and wellbeing which will be sustained into adult life, helping to promote health and wellbeing within the local community and for the next generation. It will also enable some students to perform at high levels in sport or prepare for careers within the health and leisure industry.
