Hello! My name is Nicole Madden! I was born and raised in Shaler. I attended a catholic elementary school growing up. Currently, I am still in Shaler living with my husband, Jim, our one-year-old daughter, Penelope, and our dog, Gino.
I have an Associate's Degree from CCAC in Early Childhood Education, a Bachelor's Degree from Carlow in Early Childhood Education, and a Master's Degree from Duquesne University in Reading and Literacy Development.
I started working in a formal classroom back in 2013 as a teacher's aide for my mother while I went to college. After I graduated with my undergraduate degree, I began working at Providence Heights Alpha School as the prekindergarten teacher. After 7 years at Alpha, they have closed their doors. I now have the honor of joining the Holy Cross family as a kindergarten teacher!
I love teaching young children and all of the exploring, learning, and excitement that goes on in the classroom.
Don't forget! We have a Google Form for parents to fill out for the upcoming week that will be sent out every Friday. It's a quick and secure way to keep me informed of your child's weekly plans. If there are any changes, please let the office and me know as soon as possible.
A Few Important Reminders:
Please send your child to school each day with a healthy morning snack.
Library books are due back at school on Wednesdays.
Please label all coats, sweaters, and school supplies with your child's name.
Our Kindergarten class will begin attending School Liturgy at the end of the first semester. Each week we will walk over to the church and sit with our Prayer Partners. Students are to dress according to the Student Handbook. Our first School Liturgy date will be communicated to parents through our Classroom Newsletters. We hope you will join us!
