HOLY CROSS
Study Abroad
Holy Cross offers high-quality study abroad programs which challenge students to engage with the world, develop intercultural competence, face global challenges, and lead exceptional lives. We view our programs as international extensions of the College, promoting intellectual excellence, cultural curiosity, and personal growth in each of our students wherever their academic interests and personal aspirations may lead them.

Maymesters are short term, faculty-lead study abroad programs. Students can earn a Common Area credit while traveling with and learning from Holy Cross faculty on-site across the globe. While Maymesters should not be viewed as an alternative to semester & year-long study abroad programs, they can enrich any academic path at Holy Cross!
Typically beginning in mid-May and lasting 4-6 weeks, Maymesters are held outside of the traditional academic year. They therefore are not covered by financial aid and instead are fully student funded.
People say that study abroad changes your life, and I have experienced that first hand. I would like to use my experience in Argentina to inspire future students and help them find their way to their next adventure.

Any major can study abroad - even double majors! The educational advantages of international experience and its effect on students’ personal growth are profound. Participants develop greater levels of self-confidence and independence, grow their capacity to connect with people of diverse backgrounds and beliefs, and gain newfound perspective on their home country.
Holy Cross maintains close ties with partner institutions and programs to ensure that students’ international learning experiences integrate with the College's curriculum. Students will advance their majors, minors, and concentrations and continue to fulfill HC's Common Area requirements.

Holy Cross's study abroad program spoke to me when I first visited campus as a prospective student. Now that I've actually had the opportunity to study abroad, I find myself absolutely invested in spreading the word and encouraging future students to take the leap!
