Classroom Expectations
Our classroom expectations focus on our guiding principle of R.E.S.P.E.C.T. In our classroom, we respect each other, ourselves, property, environment, collaboration, and thoughts. We refer back to these expectations often throughout the year and they help us build and maintain a strong classroom community!
If a student chooses not to show respect in the classroom, they will be asked to refocus on respect with these steps:
1. Time to take a break and reflect
2. A Fix It Ticket signed by student & parent (Fix It Ticket Example)
3. A parent meeting/phone call home
Homework & Grading
Students are expected to write assigned homework in their planner daily
Homework will be assigned each night (Mon. - Thurs.) in Math
No homework will be given on Fridays, though students are encouraged to practice their math facts for fluency a few minutes each day, including weekends.
All students start out with a 100% as a homework grade. For each assignment missed, there is a 10 point deduction. If the missing homework is returned one day late, the student will earn back 5 of the 10 points.
Math Grading Percentages
50%- Major Assessments (Tests/Projects)
40%- Minor Assessments (Quizzes/Check-ins/Graded Classwork)
10%- Academic Responsibility
