The Holmdel Township Public Schools provides developmentally appropriate gifted and talented educational services through a continuum of services:
K-2nd
Informal identification through ongoing student observation and classroom assessments
Whole class, push-in enrichment
Instructional Modifications and Differentiated Instruction (DI) - tiered assignments; tiered learning center activities; flexible groupings
Pull Aside Instruction
Classroom teacher support
3rd-6th
Cluster rostering
Differentiated Instruction - learning contracts; extension menus; curriculum compacting; pull-aside; and independent study guides in content areas
Whole-class push-in enrichment activities
Pull-out - process skill project/inquiry based instruction
Advanced Learning Labs: Small group advanced instruction
Classroom teacher support
7th-8th
Inquiry Seminar: Self-selected Project Based Learning (PBL) Experience
Honors Math and Honors English
Honors Advanced Research (HARS) Shadow Program (student mentor partnerships)
9th-12th
Same as 7th-8th plus Honors and AP courses

Gifted and Talented services will be tailored to the development of particular skills, behaviors, and outcomes with students requiring additional services. The Holmdel Gifted and Talented curriculum will focus on being rigorous, challenging, and defensible. The program is multi-faceted with a continuum of programming services including:
Cluster grouping
Classroom based enrichment and extensions
Needs-based pull-aside/pull-out instruction
Periodic whole class push-in enrichment and extension with a G&T Specialist
Instructional modification and differentiation
