Theatre allows students to open up and, by working closely with one another, learn about other people and themselves. Participation in theatre helps students to stimulate their imaginations, develop powers of observation, foster the use of the senses, promote critical thinking, develop their language skills, and foster collaborative skills, among others.
This class is an introduction to the world of live theatre performance. It is designed for both students with an interest in performing arts and students who want to improve their communication and leadership skills. Class projects will rotate on a two-year basis to allow students to take the class twice. Projects may include, but are not limited to, storytelling, pantomime, puppetry, improvisation, research projects, written assessments, in-class presentations, journal entries, traditional exams, vocabulary quizzes, and self-reflection.Â
