Social Studies Interactive Notebook- Digital Notebook:
After reading and discussing each section in TCI, students will answer questions about each section on a slide in the digital notebook for that Unit. On another slide, students will demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of the material in that section by completeing a higher level thinking activity. Most times students work in groups or with a partner to complete activites.
4th Grade Social Studies Units- Introduction to Social Studies and Current Events, French and Indian War, Causes of the American Revolution, American Revolution, The Declaration of Independence & Constitution
Morning Meeting Mondays:
Character building lessons and activities-(Greeting, Share, Activity, & Morning Message)
Morning Meeting will be done several times a week.
Current Events Friday:
Each student will present a current topic to the class after researching, close reading, and writing a summary of an article of their choice.
Each Student will present one current event to the class each marking period.
Presentation schedule will be sent home along with an example and explaination of all project requirements.
Students will be assigned an Inquire Project after each Unit. Students will work in groups to extend their learning and discovery on the topics for that Unit. It will be presented in a creative form.
