How To Get Involved

Students may join the Global Citizens Program at any point up through the end of their sophomore year. To ensure enough time to complete the required courses and participate in the activities necessary to earn Global Citizens Program Endorsement upon graduation, students are encouraged to begin fulfilling these requirements during their freshman year.

Suggested Timeline for Participation

Freshmen and Sophomores

- Complete Introduction to Global Citizenship course (Suggested: 9th grade, Required: by end of 10th grade)
- Begin taking approved globally oriented courses
- Complete Service Learning course (Highly suggested: 10th grade, Required: by first semester, 11th grade)
- Explore and engage in leadership activities
- Explore and engage in Passport Events/Activities of your choice
- Meet with peer mentor
- Create a digital portfolio and begin documenting and reflecting on all of the above
- End-of-year reflection/presentation

Juniors

- Continue taking globally oriented courses
- Engage in leadership activities (including mentorship of freshman GCP students)
- Continue to engage in Passport Events/Activities of your choice
- Explore and begin Capstone Project
- Maintain digital portfolio
- End-of-year reflection/presentation

Seniors

- Continue taking globally oriented courses
- Continue to engage in leadership activities (including mentorship of sophomore GCP students)
- Continue to engage in Passport Events/Activities of your choice
- Maintain and finalize digital portfolio
- Complete all courses and other program requirements
- End-of-year reflection/presentation
- Global Citizens Program Capstone Presentation

To accommodate unique needs and exceptional situations, there will be an open process in which a student may petition to participate in and/or supplement alternative work and/or have supplemental experiences recognized as being of significant and equal quality to justify consideration for endorsement upon graduation.
