Hey there—I'm Brittney. I’ve been providing trauma-sensitive counseling since 2015 and feel deeply honored to do this work. My career began during my undergraduate training, working with youth ages 11–13 and their families in a school setting. After graduating, I worked for a domestic and sexual violence service provider, where I provided trauma-focused therapy to individuals across the lifespan and developed and managed both clinical and youth programs.
I have also contracted with the local Children’s Justice Center, where I provided specialized trauma-informed therapy to children and families navigating abuse and high-risk situations, as well as contracted clinical supervision. This work has deepened my commitment to supporting both clients and clinicians in navigating complex trauma with skill, care, and integrity.
After the birth of my first child, I transitioned into private practice, where I’ve continued to grow my work and passion ever since. I am LGBTQ+ affirming and committed to creating a safe, inclusive space for all clients. I most often work with children who have experienced abuse and their families, and I am a Certified Child and Adolescent Trauma Professional (CATP). I also have extensive experience supporting adults from diverse backgrounds as they navigate trauma, relationships, and life transitions.
My approach is holistic, flexible, and deeply client-centered. I believe in treating the whole person—not just symptoms—and in meeting clients exactly where they are. I tailor therapy to fit each individual or family, recognizing that healing is not one-size-fits-all.
I strive to create a space where clients feel safe, supported, and empowered to heal. Whether you're seeking support for your child, your family, or yourself, I’m here to be your companion in that process.

Melissa is a Clinical Social Worker Intern at Holistic Journey Counseling and Consulting and a graduate student at the University of Utah, currently in the final year of her program. Melissa also works with children and families, creating a safe and supportive space where children can express themselves, build emotional awareness, and develop healthy ways of coping. She partners closely with parents to support their child’s growth while strengthening connection within the family system.
Melissa believes deeply in the resilience of the human spirit and each person’s capacity to heal, grow, and reclaim a sense of peace and purpose.
