IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT BUSING: Welcome letters will be left in your mailbox & bus tags emailed 24-48 hours before the first day of each session.
There's a reason Long Island families have voted us Best Sports Camp in the Long Island Choice Awards three years running -- we're the premier destination for young athletes in the area.
A majority of our Sports Academy Camps are directed by one of Hofstra University's Division I head coaches, with daily instruction provided by their coaching staff and players.
Use this page to find out exactly what you need to know for each Sports Camp in summer 2025!
For added convenience, transportation is optional for families of one-week Sports Academy Camps. Below, you'll find information about drop-off and pick-up locations, as well as details about transportation if your child is being bused to campus each day.
Prior to the start of the camp week, you will receive an email from us with a tag for T-00 which indicates that your child will not be riding a bus. This is just a way for our staff to separate our parent pick -ups from our bus riders at arrival and dismissal.
All campers enrolled in a one-week sports camp must be dropped off and picked up at their respective camp location. All camps, except for the Seth Tierney Boys Lacrosse Camp, take place on Hofstra University's North Campus, and each location has ample parking right outside of their entrances.
Signs will be posted around campus each week to guide you to the correct location once you're on-campus.
Conditioning and Fitness: David S. Mack Sports & Exhibition Complex
Kelly Olsen Dance: David S. Mack Sports & Exhibition Complex
New York Baseball Academy: University Field
Richard Nuttall/Simon Riddiough Soccer: Â Captain's Field
Please note that soccer pick-up is at a different location than drop-off. Pick-up is at the far end of Captain's Field, at the field gate closest to the Zucker School of Medicine.
Speedy Claxton Boys Basketball Camp: David S. Mack Sports & Exhibition Complex
In the morning, please arrive at your camper's designated drop-off location no later than 9 a.m. A parent or guardian must sign in their camper each morning.
If you plan on picking your child up early, please contact the Camp Office at camps@hofstra.edu or 516-463-2267 at the beginning of the day so we can make note for our staff.
Please take note of the following:
If you are picking your child up midway through the day, they can be picked up at 11:30 a.m. at their respective Sports Academy field.
If you are picking your child up instead of them taking the bus home, the pick-up time is 3:45 p.m. at their respective Sports Academy field.
We are unable to dismiss your child between 3:00 and 3:45 p.m. as we begin preparing for dismissal.
Please do not arrive before the designated pick-up time.
Campers must be signed out with a director prior to leaving campus.
If someone other than a legal guardian will be picking up your child, please call the office in advance. We cannot release a camper to anyone without prior consent.
If we are experiencing inclement weather, your pick-up locations may change.
New York Baseball Academy pick-ups may be from the Hofstra Bubble.
Nuttall/Riddiough Soccer pick-ups may be from the Hofstra Bubble OR the David S. Mack Physical Education Center.
We will have updated signage posted on-campus to direct you to the correct location.
Once all of the campers getting picked up are accounted for, staff members will take attendance at each bus. Buses will only be dismissed once all campers are accounted for.
Welcome to our transportation service, provided by WeTransport!
If you've chosen to use our transportation service, here's what you can expect:
You will receive a letter (where applicable) and an email with your child's bus number and approximate pick up time the week before your child's camp session.
Please note: bus numbers and routes may change weekly. Make sure your child knows their bus number to help them with dismissal.
You'll receive a call from our Transportation Office prior to the start of the week with your child's bus number, approximate pick up time, and location.
As with door-to-door service, bus numbers and routes may change weekly. Please ensure your child knows their bus number to help them with dismissal.
Campers are typically picked up between 7:45-8:30 a.m. (some routes may be earlier depending on distance) and will arrive on campus accordingly. A staff member will meet the bus, take attendance, and escort campers to their groups.
On the first day of each week, please be patient as our drivers navigate new routes.
Buses typically depart campus between 4:00 and 4:15 p.m.
Campers must always be seated and wearing a seatbelt.
Campers should never put any part of their body out of the window.
Campers should never put their hands on another camper or use offensive/inappropriate language.
