A big part of what makes Hofstra Summer Camps special is our dedicated counselors and staff who provide your child with care, energy, and attention each day. If you'd like to show your appreciation, we've put together this simple guide to help you navigate gratuities.
Please note that your camper's counselors and bus driver may change each session. If you choose to provide a gratuity, we recommend doing so at the end of each session.
Some staff members have opted in to receive tips via Venmo. Their unique Venmo codes will be included on the "Meet the Staff" page.
When sending a gratuity via Venmo, please include:
Your child's name
Their camp program
The session dates
Example: Tip for [Child's Name], Adventure Education, Session 3.
đź’ˇNote: All Venmo tips are private transactions between the parent and the staff member. Hofstra Summer Camps does not track or monitor gratuities.
If you prefer to send a cash gratuity, please follow these guidelines:
Place gratuities in clearly labeled envelopes with your child's name and program (or the staff member's name, if applicable).
Campers should hand envelopes directly to their counselor or director.
If you'd like to give a general tip to the entire staff, we recommend handing it directly to the director, who will distribute it appropriately.
