HLPUSD provides a meaningful Induction Program of support and self-assessment to advance the skills and knowledge of each Candidate and simultaneously improve student achievement. The program supports on-going reflection and self-assessment of each Candidate’s progress toward growth in the California Standards for the Teaching Profession (CSTP). The program is designed to improve classroom practice of Candidates and develop teachers who are responsive to the diverse cultural, social, and linguistic backgrounds of all students. The program includes mentor support for each eligible teacher in the district for two years and professional development opportunities for Candidates and Mentors as determined by individual assessment and goals.
The program is based on a clearly defined set of goals and outcomes designed around the CSTP and Induction Standards to support new teacher growth and student achievement.

Ensure qualified Candidates receive a Professional Clear teaching credential
Direct meaningful support toward improving student achievement
Advance the skills and knowledge of Candidates

Program Outcomes
Upon completion of the two-year Induction Program:
