To enable you to engage with relevant topics and themes around media language, representation, industry and audience.
To provide skills in analysing media products using television, music video, radio, newspaper, magazine, advertising/marketing, online media.
To develop skills in creating an individual media product.
Course Content
Media is a contemporary and interactive subject which encourages you to develop your creative, analytical, research and communication skills. You will explore a range of media forms and perspectives. The subject content focuses on media language, representation, industries and audiences. During the course, you will study a variety of forms, including a selection from magazines, advertising and marketing, newspapers, online, social and participatory media and video games, radio, music video and film.
Assessment Structure
There are two exams, which are each worth 35% of the total marks, with a practical non-exam assessment worth 30%.

Contribute ideas and engage with all the media products studied, even those which are unfamiliar.
Work on your own initiative for homework tasks, researching and analysing media products.
Submit the written work necessary to complete class and homework tasks.
