Skyward 12.8 update created an issue with teachers, staff, parents, and students to be able to log into their Mobile App. Based on their recommendations, the app needs to be removed and reinstalled.
Below you find instructions for both Apple and Android devices.
1. Wipe the Old Data (The "Clean Slate")
Before deleting, it's best to clear the "memory" of the app so old login errors don't carry over.
Android: Go to Settings > Apps > Skyward > Storage. Tap Clear Cache and Clear Data. Then, tap Uninstall.
iOS (iPhone/iPad): Long-press the Skyward icon on your home screen, select Remove App, then Delete App. (iOS clears data automatically upon deletion).
2. Reinstall & Setup
Download Skyward Mobile Access from the App Store or Google Play Store.
Open the app and select Locate District.
To find Hallsville ISD quickly:
Search by Postal Code: Enter 75650.
Search by Name: Type "Hallsville".
Select Hallsville ISD from the list.
Select School Management. (This is for Family and Student access.)
OR Select Business Management. (This is for Employees.)
3. Adding Your Account
Enter Credentials: Use your Hallsville ISD username and password.
Tip: If you've forgotten your login, the district's portal is at `family.hisd.com`, where you can find a "Forgot Login/Password" link.
Description: Label this account (e.g., "HISD Parent" or "Bobby's Grades").
Save & PIN: Tap Save. The app will prompt you to create a 4-digit PIN. You’ll enter this twice.
This PIN is unique to your phone and is what you’ll use to "unlock" the app quickly moving forward.
4. How to Add Multiple Accounts
If you have a student in a different district or a separate staff login:
Open the app and enter your PIN.
Tap the Accounts menu (usually a '+' icon or the 'Accounts' button on the home screen).
Tap Add Another Account.
Follow the search steps again (e.g., search for the other district name or zip code).
Once added, you can simply tap the account name on the home screen to switch between them without re-entering passwords.
