We recommend you download the app to your phone or access ParentSquare from your computer in order to use all of the ParentSquare features.
iOS App - Apple Store
Android App - Google Play Store
No more digging through buried emails, missed text messages, or crumpled paper flyers at the bottom of backpacks. ParentSquare brings everything into one secure place.
One Central Hub: Access school announcements, district alerts, classroom updates, and report cards in a single feed.
Two-Way Translation: Receive and send messages in your preferred language. ParentSquare instantly translates communications into over 190 languages!
Flexible Notifications: Choose how and when you want to be notified. Select Instant to get updates immediately, or Digest to receive a single, organized summary email at the end of the day. (Note: Emergency alerts will always bypass this and arrive instantly).
Safe Family Messaging: Need to send a quick, safe update to your student during the school day (like a change in pickup plans)? You can message them securely through the platform directly to their school-issued device without relying on personal cell phones.
Download the App: Search for "ParentSquare" in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
Sign Up: Use the email address or cell phone number that is currently on file in your SIS Family Access account.
Verify Your Info: Once logged in, confirm your contact information and link your children to your account. Don't want to use the app? You can always log in on a desktop at parentsquare.com.
ParentSquare replaces disconnected tools (like Remind, Bloomz, or paper forms) with a single platform integrated directly with our school database.
Easy Newsletters & Posts: Create beautiful, media-rich announcements or weekly newsletters using simple drag-and-drop design blocks.
Smart Forms & Sign-Ups: Stop chasing down paper permission slips. Use native ParentSquare forms to coordinate field trips, sign up parent volunteers, or request classroom items.
Direct Messaging & Virtual Phone: Message a parent privately or use the Virtual Phone feature to call a family without revealing your personal cell phone number. Every communication is automatically logged for accountability.
Custom Groups: Easily build static or dynamic groups for sports teams, after-school clubs, or tutoring sessions to communicate with specific sets of parents.
If you have a staff account (using your school email) and a parent account (using your personal email), you can merge them! Click your name in the top right corner of the website, select My Account, and click Combine with another account. This lets you flip seamlessly between your teacher and parent dashboards with one click.
Do parents have to download the app?
No. Parents will still receive standard text messages and emails from the school even if they choose not to download the app or register their account.
My contact details or student list is incorrect. How do I fix it?
ParentSquare syncs daily with our school database. If your phone number, email, or linked children are incorrect, please log into SIS Family Access to update your official records, or contact your campus registrar. Changes will reflect in ParentSquare within 24 hours.
Can I use ParentSquare for parent-teacher conferences?
Yes! Teachers can navigate to Add-Ons > Conference Sign-Ups to create time slots. Parents can then reserve a slot directly from their app or computer.
Attaching a PDF document
Why It Doesn't Work
PDFs are difficult to view on cell phones and are usually not ADA-compliant for screen readers.
What to Do Instead
Type it directly: Write your announcement text directly into the body of your post or message.
Including a digital flyer (.JPG / .PNG image with text)
Why It Doesn't Work
Flyers are built for paper, not a tiny smartphone screen. They also cannot be read by screen readers or translated by ParentSquare.
What to Do Instead
Copy & paste: Put the flyer's text into the post body. You can attach a graphic, but keep it minimal (fewer than 5 words).
Adding a QR code to an electronic post
Why It Doesn't Work
Parents are reading your message on their phone—they cannot scan a QR code that is displayed on their own screen!
What to Do Instead
Use a hyperlink: Insert a standard text link. Give the link a descriptive name (e.g., Click here to open the Registration Form) rather than pasting the raw URL.
Typing text in ALL CAPS
Why It Doesn't Work
Text-to-speech tools for visually impaired parents will read ALL CAPS text letter-by-letter as an acronym, making it incomprehensible
What to Do Instead
Use formatting text tools: Emphasize important points by using bold, italics, or underlined text instead.
Forgetting to add Alt Text to images
Why It Doesn't Work
If you don't add alternate text, visually impaired parents will have no idea what the picture is.
What to Do Instead
Describe the photo: When you insert an image, click the "i" icon on the drop-down box to add a one-sentence description of the image.
Commenting instead of Replying
Why It Doesn't Work
If you post a general comment underneath a parent's question, they won't receive a notification that you answered them.
What to Do Instead
Click Reply: Click the specific "Reply" button directly under the parent's comment so they get an alert with your response.
Asking for Parent/Student names on ParentSquare Forms
Why It Doesn't Work
Because ParentSquare is linked to our school database, it already attaches the parent's and student's names/grades to the form results automatically.
What to Do Instead
Keep forms short: Skip those basic identity questions. Only ask for the new information you actually need!
Relying on external tools (like Google Forms)
Why It Doesn't Work
Forcing parents to leave the app to fill out a separate form adds friction and lowers response rates.
What to Do Instead
Use built-in Add-ons: Take advantage of ParentSquare's native features like Forms, Permission Slips, RSVPs, or Sign-ups.
