Mr Gerald coaches all the three math events: Number Sense, Calculator Applications, General Mathematics. He began his career in education in 2017 teaching 8th grade math & Algebra at Waskom MS. He joined the HJH Team in 2019 as a member of the 7th grade math team and began coaching the Bobcat Math & Science Team (MST) during the fall of 2021.
Mr Gerald holds a Bachelor Degree in Applied Mathematics and a Master's Degree in Astronautical Engineering. He is certified to teach Math grades 4-8.
Mr Gerald spent 25 years in the United States Navy prior to entering the education field. He has been married to his wife, Patty, since 1994 and has four children (3 bio & 1 bonus) and three grandchildren. When he is not tormenting his students with advanced math, he enjoys being outside especially on the beach, at the lake or in a deer stand. Otherwise, he'll be in his woodshop or enjoying a good book.
Ms Fuller is the coach for the Science event. She graduated from Hallsville High School in 2009 and then LeTourneau University in 2013 with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies of Math/Science and Education. Her certifications are 4th-8th Generalist and 4th-8th Math/Science Specialist.
Ms Fuller is a Longview/Hallsville native, and has lived in this area pretty much her whole life. She is what some people call a “Crazy Dog Mom,” with 3 very spoiled fur babies who enjoy riding in their wagon when going to different farmers markets and festivals in the area. Monster (10 years) is her little old lady we affectionately call “Spicy Potato.” Bellatrix (3 years) is the classic middle child who is chaos in a small body. If fetch is involved, she will be the first in line. LunaBug (2 years) is her 67lbs couch potato who would rather snuggle than play, but if you say outside, she’s at the door ready to find sticks and steal Bellatrix’s ball.
Ms Fuller loves Science, Harry Potter, Pokemon, Anime/Manga, and anything really.
