The Bobcat Math and Science Team (MST) is a member of the Texas Math and Science Coaches Association (TMSCA). The purpose of TMSCA is to promote excellence in math and science through competition. It was originally established to help prepare students for UIL competitions but has since grown to become an entity all its own. (https://www.tmsca.org/)
The Bobcat MST is composed of sixth through eighth grade students that participate in all or some of four specific events. The team’s season begins when school kicks off in August and ends in the spring. There are up to 15 Saturday competitions throughout the year, with six in the fall and nine in the spring. Hallsville normally competes in 9-10 competitions but it isn't determined until the beginning of each year. The season culminates with the state competition that is held on the UTSA campus in San Antonio each spring.
