Outwood Academy Hindley has been recognised for its outstanding careers work. The school has been awarded the national Quality in Careers Standard awarded under licence by Ixion (Part of the Shaw Trust Group). The Quality in Careers Standard is awarded to schools and education providers who can demonstrate the importance they place on careers and how they support students to make decisions about their life after school.
Outwood Academy Hindley is continually working to improve the chances and opportunities of all the students. Recognising the importance of preparing students for their future careers the school began working towards the national Quality in Careers Standard.
There is a statutory duty to ‘secure independent careers guidance’ for all students from year 8 onwards and the Government also recommends that all schools should be required to work towards the national Quality in Careers Standard.
Achieving the national Quality in Careers Standard shows the head teacher, governors and leadership team at Outwood Academy Hindley; embrace, promote and endorse qualitycareers education and recognise the part it plays in the overall success of the school and its students. The school offers a range of activities to introduce students to the work of work and help them make decisions about life after school.
Welcome to our school's career website, designed to provide information and support for parents, pupils and the wider school community. We believe that every pupil should have access to the guidance and support they need to make informed decisions about their future education and career aspirations. Our school is committed to working towards the Gatsby Benchmarks, a framework of eight guidelines for good career guidance in schools, to ensure that we are providing our pupils with the best possible guidance and support.
To achieve these benchmarks, we have created a dedicated page on our website for each one, where you can find information about our progress towards achieving them and the steps we are taking to ensure that we are meeting the needs of our pupils. We believe that by working towards these benchmarks, we are providing our pupils with a comprehensive and high-quality careers education that will enable them to make informed decisions about their future.
In addition to these pages, our website also includes contact pages for further and higher education institutions, businesses, and past pupils who may wish to get in touch with us. We believe that by building strong relationships with these organisations, we can provide our pupils with a wide range of opportunities and experiences that will help them to achieve their full potential.
We hope that you find our career website informative and helpful, and we welcome any feedback or suggestions you may have. Thank you for your continued support as we work towards providing our pupils with the guidance and support they need to achieve their career aspirations.
